Drill instructors are introduced. SSgt Patten teaches the poolees the difference between commands and questions. When given a command you answer, "Aye aye sir!" When asked a question you say, "Yes sir!" SSgt Patten also explains that when he says, "Eyeballs," the poolees are to answer "Click." Ssgt says when I say "Zero," poolee answers "Freeze." Poolees were to follow these instructions for the remainder of the Family Day activities.

  • Love this, I think every Marine recruit (poolee) should experience a drill instructor in their face. I think the Nebraska group of poolees are louder though in my video, check them out.

  • what ever happened to ZEEEERO, FREEZE OR DIE!!!

  • Does anyone know if these family nights are mandatory? If it's mandatory for the poolee, is it mandatory for his family to attend as well?

    Thanks for any help

  • @darthgrahf im 17..? i ship off july 13th and dont turn 18 untill august 20th of 2012

  • boy oh! boy! this sure bring memories former lcpl paris island nov 1993-97 simper fi forever

  • @20FUTUREMARINE12 Wait a minute, it says on your profile you're only 17. Are you really a Marine?

  • @darthgrahf You would say "gentlemen" instead of "sir" for the proper greeting of the day. However you do NOT say "yes gentlemen," no gentlemen," or "aye-aye gentlemen." When responding to a command or question, you only respond to the Drill Instructor who spoke to you, no matter how many are there at the time. And yes, I learned that the hard way.

  • How do you address more than one drill instructor?

  • @Zomb131 they wont tell them freeze or die since the parents are present. when i went through recruit training in 2006 we said a lot worse than "freeze or die"
