  • @azigazikanya

Um, but.... I understamd the Japanese.

Shouldn't be so quick to 'disagree'.

  • @superesonator

I disagree with you. I don't understand what he is saying, but I see what he is doing. He is clearly initiating both omote and ura version when explaining. So I think the translation is right.

  • This is excellent, thank you for posting this.

  • That's my teach translating, it at sunset cliff aikido right?

  • @superesonator in Iwama ryu when you are doing ki no nagare, uke is initiating, but in kihon, step by step, nage is initiating, i think that is what hes trying to say

  • @superesonator

at least I know in modern Aikikai all the techniques have become uke initiated.

While Yoshinkan preserves the Nage initiate in SMU omote waza.

  • just a slight clarification, I think she might have fudged the translation just a bit,

I think the explanation is that the Omote used to start with Nage initiating and the Ura started with Uke initiating, but these were changed that both started with Uke initiating. Here the translator says they were changed to start with "Nage" initiating, she should have said "Uke." initiating.
