I use the old hiper type r, that's modular and it's the best power supply I've ever used. My quad core overclocked to bit's machine doesn't stress it one little bit. I definetly wouldn't say it was dangerous. Curiosity, what companies have said they are dodgy?

I'm pretty sure, although I might be wrong, that you only need active power factor correction on uk mains, not american :)
