  • The Volt is great, but its nothing amazing, simply because its back bone is the internal combustion powered motor, i had the idea to use a gas motor to turn a generator to power electric motors when i was 12, and it turns out they've been using this technology in trains for years, its so simple, and im surprised they cant get even more mpg then they do out of the Volt

  • Nice but it would be better if it had LED headlights and for the LCD screen, LED as well. I like the design though ^^ Time will tell if its reliable.

  • when ever people talk about the leaf, they always forget the cost of leasing the 10k battery(even reporters omit such important factor)

  • trassier: The starting price for a new Toyota Prius is $21K. Those consumers who are interested in "eco" cars are unwilling to pay $40K for a Chevy Volt. Maintenance costs on the Chevy Volt will be high if the Volt is as consistently unreliable as past GM cars.

Watch this YouTube video titled, "GM Chevy Volt Fails," at this link:

GM invited PBS Frontline for a Volt publicity shoot, but it broke down when trying to make it up a small hill, and the shoot was canceled.

  • TranCendenZ -- You are comparing apples and oranges. The Leaf is 100% electric (from what I understand) the Volt is 100% electric until the battery runs out, then the gas engine kicks on and you keep driving. That keeps the car useful under all conditions. If you need to drive 1200 miles away from home, you can do it in the volt. Not so with the leaf.

  • Don't forget about how FUGLY that Leaf is in comparison.

  • nice commetary from consumers *cough*actors*cough*

volt is crap compared to the nissan leaf

  • this is whats killing the sports cars
