Time for some romance. The movie "Casablanca" made this song famous. Most people know it as the "play it again Sam" song, although Bogey never said that in the movie.
I learned this arrangement from a recording by Guy van Duser.
I'm playing a Gréven FX maple guitar.
Oh yeah, that's my dog you hear sniffing my feet during the first 30 seconds...

  • Absolutely fabulous rendition.

Question! May I use your instrumental as background for a YouTube vocal posting of "As Time Goes By"? Thank you for your consideration.

    See YouTube: "Octogenarian81."

    Ed

  • thanks Ed, no problem to use my version.

  • Beautiful. Love the bird inlays on the neck. What guitar are your playing?

    DD

  • The guitar was made by John Gréven in 1987; back and sides are figured maple, top is sitka. He doesn't make this special "fingerstyle" model anymore (well, it's not on his website anyway).

  • this is veeeery well done. I'm just sad I can't find anyone playing and sing this song

  • Thanks for playing that beautiful tune! It was only beautiful because you were playing it with just as much feeling as this song demands. I would love to see you in person sometime. Thanks again, keep plaing!
