Meh. Either way, Repo! The Genetic Opera is a piece of cinematic art that will endure with its cult fanbase. Repo Men ... is just another action movie that will make money and then be forgotten in a few years.

This movie didn't really steal the plot line from Repo: The Genetic Opera...it only took the start.
I think this movie will be different enough from Repo that I actually won't dislike it just for being like the latter. It looks pretty decent, or about as decent as you can see from a preview.

This is based on Eric Garcia's "The repossession Mambo"
He included an essay in the back of the novel, probably to address these specific concerns. He had the idea in 1997, started developing it as a short story, then concurrently a novel and screenplay. During the development of Reposession Mambo, the Rex books were published, and Matchstick Men was both published and adapted to screen.
Repo!, on the other hand, was first developed in 1998 into a short play, then a stage show, then a movie.

Oh wow, it's so obvious that this script CLEARLY stole the plot line from Repo: The Genetic Opera. How irritating.
