Operation Freakout: The CoS Bomb Threat Proof

Background Story: Sometime in January a bomb threat against the Church Of $cientology was posted on youtube for A FEW HOURS at the most before it was removed (that's the video they are showing here) and reported to the FBI by Anonymous.

Anyway, the church went ahead and made a DVD to give to the media, and in that was a clip about the bomb threat. But people noticed, compared to other scenes in it that were pulled off YouTube. That bomb threat part was high quality.

Now ask yourself, if you pull a video off youtube, how would it be in higher quality then the one posted on youtube?
You would have to have the original version that was uploaded.

From the goons -- A VERY basic comparison of the screen-shot from the DVD CoS passed out tonight (3/14/08) in Florida to the .flv file from the original YouTube video proclaiming a bomb threat from Anonymous to the CoS.

Again, this means little; a qualified expert is what is needed for this assessment.

I'm certain the FBI and ATF have those sorts of people.

What I see is;

Pixilation
Horizontal lines (lacing)
quite a bit of color degradation
Loss of depth and detail.

In the DVD shot, colors are bright, sharp, smooth rounded gradients.


no real indication the pixels were blurred to the extent it would take to remove sharp pixel angles.

So... there ya have what I see.

I added no effects or changed the images in anyway from they way I got them.... encoding ONLY.... it's not my job to fabricate anything, I'll leave that to others

hey, when a Catholic pries molests a child, there is a public outcry. However, then the parents expect the Archdiocese to take action and responsibility. It doesn't always happen, or quick enough, but they put on a public face.

People have been complaining about abuse at the hands of the "Church" for decades, but they are made to sign "legal" documents preventing them from seeking help, and the management punishes them for exposing abuses. It's evil, criminal, and must be stopped.

@gnredbull i believe thats just making color, brightness, contrast, ect. adjustments. for something like this there is no point in upping quality just to make it look better on the DVD
