@Flamingos40: true, very true. But I think that has something more to do with the quality of all goods/articles/things in general that were built 20/30 years ago. A tv built in the 80s was supposed to last for a long time, currently a tv is supposed to work for up to 5 years so you will replace it by a new one. In aviation language: currently, you see dozens of A320/A340 and B767/777 stored in the dessert whereas MD80s get a new life quickly. How come?

@FrisoLustig The durability of the jetliner series. I mean whats going on with the A380 engines and parts, yeah maybe it could be RR's or PW's fault. But the 747 hold a legacy of beast jets being able to fly in the sky.
