@Netscape128 There would be the Mac, a windows like, but better, OS. Xerox had a mouse based OS as well. Plus Unix with X11 graphical desktop. Windows, one of many.

Chrome's core came from Apple's Safari, which in turn came from KHTML on Linux. Without those Linux developers, Apple, nor Google, nor RIM, nor every mobile under the sun, would have ever had any browser code to use at all.
The initial KHTML developers deserver a nobel prize.
As for Microsoft... huh? who? Are they still relevant?

@ytvoice1 The browser might be open source, but google isnt. For example you dont know whats going on behind the surface. wether they make a file listing all the politically incorrect comments you ever made on youtube and send it to the future communist government so they can pick put you in a concentration camp.
And for sure you know that gmails terms of use dont rule out that your emails are never ever ever going to be deleted.
