Then why are you celebrating "christmas" or JUL(yule) as it is known in Scandinavia where it originated from???
-
@trojoe And easter.
-
Somebody should remind this stupid bitch that Christianity is BASED on a human sacrifice. The Bible says that Jesus was sacrificed for the world's sin.
-
@lexaeus88 What do you think she meant?
-
Going by that Gawker story she did.
-
Does the word "Easter" mean anything to this woman?
-
@RonaldR2007 - That's exactly what we're saying, here. The stories were built on existing phenomena and symbols. The stories were constructed, the symbols conscripted and the mythology generated from ALREADY EXISTING ideas.
What's more likely? God arranged everything (including influencing the Pagans) to worship astronomical events that would eventually coincide with the arrival and departure of his son, or that humans built stories from familiar ideas in their culture?

@bjjolley It may be, but Christianity has given it its full meaning, take the cross as another example: it was a common way to execute people by the romans, but it has become the Symbol of faith for humanity!!

LOL all of these holidays that are suppose to be"chirstian" are really based off of pagan beliefs....and Halloween roots are not even Satanic lol they came from the Celtics In Ireland :) Fucking Douche lol

@Kirakiraseviltwin - You mean the re-birth of the Sun god right after the winter solstice? The Sun "stops" its southward journey for about three days and "rises" again northward, ensuring life to come in the Spring. Hardly pagan at all!
What a bizarre world of the imagination Christine O'Donnell lives in. Human sacrifices... mutant mice with fully functional human brains, etc.
