I've heard 3 or 4 continents on SW crystal sets from my home in the USA.
It's amazing to hear stations thousands of miles away using only the power from the radiowaves and no amplification!

I've been listening to Radio Havana with my unamplified crystal set. It's about 1100 miles away. I can get Radio Canada and a few US stations.
I'm using a 18 gauge 45 ft antenna with a 1N60 diode and a homemade ferrite vari-loopstick.
The music is comes in very :clear" sounding. I wish it didn't fade in and out so much!

crystal radio is different from transistor one. the four turns aerial coil is not the same of feedback coil because in crystal set there's no RF amplification so there's no need of feedback. Aerial coil is connected for one end to the antenna, the other to the ground. Feedback coil gives positive feedback to the RF amplifier. there are so many ways to connect it. you should analyze the circuit...i'm not very good in examining circuits so i can't help you .try to search on forums

if i have to make transistor radio...could you just please tell me where i have to put tank coil (emitter, base or collector) and where i have to put feedback coil??? is the areal wire you have shown with 4 turns, the same called feedback coil??? what is the function of feedback coil and where it is plased in transistor please help me...dont discuss amplifier, i want to know about the first circuit,amplification comes next stage...please help.

can you please tell me how you made the coils???i mean did you simply wound 12 turns coil for tank and 4 turns over it for ariel???

Cool, almost 15 years without seeing a xtal radio. i built two. but i had to sell them. but i found an interesting one and im gonna buid it. keep working on it !
