tkd is a lethal martial art; like any martial art, it depends on its utilization. can tkd beat karate, muay thai or kung fu? it depends on the skill and experience of the martial artist.

does it look cool when "performed" by pro demo teams, hell yeah.
does it work against other people p[racticing TKD, yeah, is it the ultimate or mildly efective all range fighting system... far from it

As for me going against TKD people in training and sparring setting, I wouldn't do their rules because it limits my abilities, I have trouble with them... when they go with my rules(Thai boxing) they have major difficulty... and Thai Boxing is closer to a street fight, and that is part of what I'm bassing my opinion on, and I've have some street fights with TKD prople(because I was being an ass for fun, didn't expect them to actualy want to fight me)

I've never taken TKD, and you are underestimating... most street fights last only 1-3min, if it even lasts one min, and I've never taken TKD, but I've faught it... and as for my street fighting friends, maybe they have been in alot of real life fighting vs, people who haven't been... like myself, I've been in few, but dominant in all

anything is deadly when used properly... TKD on the other hand... has issues with it's street abilities
