@EatYourChimp So get out of here dude, go back to making professionaly animations since you claim to do so. As well as put together a tutorial that would be good enough to get a beginner through to the end, AND by the end they would be comfortable with all of the different functions, enough to use them and what they learned, to do anything. Yeah... thought so.

It's one step at a time for us people who aren't looking to go to college for animation. I'm currently working towards my bachelors in web development, scripting is easy as pie to me. Give me access to a server, tell me what site you want, and I'll have it done in no time. But animation is fun. And unlike you Mr. Eatyourchimp, I actually buy my software.

Used those as references, and was able to create realistic lip sync. Then by syncing the time and frames with those of my actual speaking I was able to put it together and believe that my art was talking. Then I was happy, got the basics down, some intermediate stuff, now it's on to collision, and using all of the plug ins I got. Learning how to use them to fit my needs, etc.

So, none of us feel like you do. I applaud this guy for putting this together, it looks very nice, especially for a tutorial. I watched because I needed to learn how to make the inside of the mouth work nice. From their I went further and took close up video of myself pronouncing letters, words, etc. Scaled it down to frame by frame
-
Even funnier is the fact that when I started, I was just worried about learning all of the tools, and making facial features. Learning how to cut and basically give it my own artistic feel, but still come out with a realistic product. After that, before you go blasting out adding keyframes, and trying to put together a game or movie, then you start looking at poles, etc.
-
The funniest thing is you came lashing at this guy as if he is the maker of 3ds max. No, he knows what he's doing, and just wanted to show others. He never put anywhere that it's perfect, or it's the right way, etc. He is just showing how he does his thing. Not to mention, for beginners, n-poles and shit are the last thing on their minds.
-
And with animation, there is no correct way. Seeing as how you are a "pro" you should know that first hand. You learn your own way, if you like it and it looks pretty good that's all that matters. You sound like a teacher that frowns upon students for being able to do complex mathematical equations in their head, but don't follow the "set way"
-
So wait, if you are such a pro, why are you watching tutorials? Just to look for any faults whatsoever than try to put the person down for teaching others what he knows? This guy wasn't putting this together to be exact, he gave all the tools and some pretty advanced stuff for beginners, but armed with this they can then go into more detail.
Its good that you made this, but there is a triangle at an exposed front side part of the nose, and lots of n-gons. Edge flow is not correct for animating. The "Poles" and "n-poles" are positioned wrong. You are on your way , but I rather you made more models, did it correct, then made tutorials to teach people.
Keep working :D
Look up "Subdivisionmodeling Primer" on google. :D
