The opening five minutes of the vastly underrated psychological horror film The Sender, starring Zeljko Ivanek and Shirley Knight.

The film tells the tale of an anonymous young man in a mental ward who has the supernatural ability to control reality with the power of his mind, keeping the audience in suspense as to whether what they're watching is real or coming from his head.

The director, Roger Christian, went on to helm the infamous Battlefield Earth, but don't let that put you off; this was his first film, and he shows enormous promise here. The film has yet to be released on DVD by Paramount - hopefully they will correct this at some future date.

  • Trata-se de um excelente filme de horror psicológico.

  • I saw this movie when I was a kid. I recall really liking it.

  • one of my favorites movies of 80...good old times!

  • Looks like Garth Marenghi's Darkplace... We got a winner here!

  • Željko Ivanek FTW! Although I dont really like him much when he was younger...

  • This movie along with Lets Scare Jessica To Death and Dead And Buried are the most underrated horror films ever made. It is a shame that more people don't know about this film. It is finally on dvd so maybe people will finally find it and possibly like it.

  • Its finally out on DVD. I wanted to do a commentary but Paramount launched it without anything to do with the creatives. Hollywood being smart again..
