A warning for people taking Antipsychotic drugs.
A new Vanderbilt University study has linked new types of the medication with an increased risk of heart attack.
Antipsychotics are drugs used to treat symptoms of agitation, delusions, schizophrenia, and aggressive behavior.
Doctors looked at nearly 300,000 people.
They found people on the highest doses of the newer types had the greatest risk of fatal heart attack compared to people on the older medications.
Antipsychotics are among the best selling prescriptions in the world.
The findings appear in the New England Journal of Medicine.

  • It's so unfair to be mentally ill...you get treated like shit like society. People used to be tortured for being mentally ill becuase they thought you were possesed by the devil. Nowadays people still call you crazy and tell you to "lighten up" and stop feeling sorry for yourself. It sucks!!!!! Plus, the medications are no good!

  • There's too many billions of dollars at stake for all the "experts" to have an impartial view of the drugs and their application, I do not trust this drug pushing culture at all. The "experts" also use to not wash their hands before surgery or doing births, and prescribe babies opium called soothing syrup to help them stop crying.

  • @razor1394a The whole concept of psychiatry was developed well before 1900 in Germany to get rid of people complaining. The first use of directed energy weapons can be recognized in psychiatric literature from 1908. You find it in chapter Psychiatrie-->Klinik der Narkolepsie on my homepage. During the NAZI time this concept was given up as Germany just murdered oponents. It was relaunched directly after the war to persecute and silence concentration camp survivors.

  • Stop evil psychiatry. People are dying because of the drugs. The government needs to move to natural alternatives quickly.

  • AHhhhhhhhh Cancer?

  • I take Risperdone for my crazyness.... I see and hear things that no one else see's nor hears. I was in war and now in war with my mind. It's hard but no one seems to understand. I struggle with whats real and whats not real in life.... Very hard to deal with

  • @hippyable i would suggest going to see someone in your area who is a holistic healer through orthomolecular therapy there is someone in minnesota dr. larsen again i dont know if this would work but its something to consider and the drugs cant kill brain cells i dont know why people are ficated on this i hate hearing it...there was foster kids who have been on 20 different drugs at once some of them and they are fine once taken off

  • @dannyboidj1 what the hell can anyone do when they have schizophrenia. If they don't take the drug they get sick and if they take it it kills brain cells. any advice here please. I would love to hear it. because I did not have a clue about that.

  • @RandomPicturez Yes and the hospital staff don't always treat you with respect either. the other thing that angers me is when people say oh everyone gets depressed. Idiots. they don't have a damn clue about mental illness. I'm here on your side.

  • @M1thotyn wow i had no idea these drugs can be worse then pharmaceutical drugs thats messed up. but do you think that brain damage is evident with antidepressants as well or are neuroleptic drugs more crude?
