In October, 57 members from the Cascade Presbytery of Washington and Oregon went to New Orleans for a one week mission to make a difference. We stayed at a camp operated by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance in Luling, LA and worked on homes in New Orleans. One day we spent in Killona building a playground for the children of the community. As time goes on, people forget about the devastation that New Orleans suffered from Katrina, but New Orleans still needs our help. It will take years of volunteering by people like you and I to rebuild New Orleans to its pre-Katrina splendor. Please consider volunteering.
Wow... you did an incredible job of capturing the sights and emotions of your volunteer week- thanks for sharing this gift. Cascades Presbytery rules!
