Well, as I pointed out to you, there were Swedish researchers who were researching persistent contrails in the late 1990s (possibly earlier, those were just some examples I found in a quick search).

I understand that it's very hard for people to imagine that they might have missed something like that, especially someone like yourself who looks at the sky. But I would suggest that just like you are skeptical of atmospheric scientists, you should be skeptical of your own perception and memory.
