The Soviets inflicted terrific casualties on the Germans.Yes, by 1944, the war was practically over.American assistance was invaluable to the USSR through lend-lease, Marshall Zhukov wrote this in his memoirs[ suggest you read it] Anyway, it was a terrible war, sad to see Germany and Russia fight each other as in WW1.

@villanovakid84 if it hadn't been for those barbaric savages who destroyed 80% of the german army, the americans would have been thrown back into the ocean at D-Day! over 4 million german soldiers died in the eastern front. And by the way american assistance accounted only for about 5% of supplies that the soviet union produced, of course lendlease helped but don't forget that thousands of factories were moved away in 41, and that's how the war was won, with russian industrial might.

The fascist horde didn't just rape women, they gang-raped them, tortured and then murdered them. They didn't just murder old men, they were ordered to kill everyone and specifically "every old man, women or child." Thanks to J. V. Stalin for not gaining vengeance upon the German people.

There was hardly a red army soldier without a reason to hate, if some people came to your country and raped and killed your mom your sisters and daughters you all would do the same as the soviets did you would be consumed with hate and only think of vengeance too

The Germans weren't fearful of the Soviets/Russians because they actually believed the nazi propaganda garbage about the "Soviet Untermensch" but rather the Germans KNEW the horrific war crimes they had committed in the Soviet Union *WERE* war crimes and thus they feared the Red Army because the Germans knew the Red Army was coming to deutschland with payback for those horrific crimes the Germans had committed in the Soviet Union.

Nothing will change the fact that Russia lost more people in WWII than all other nations combined, including Germany, and at the hands of a superior and more intelligent army. The tomb of the unknown soldier in Moscow should be renamed the tomb of the Russian rapist.
