I think Fabrizio got too excited about making a ridiculous pass on a top tier rider, and with 3/4 of the race left to go he figured why not throw a hail-mary pass and risk injury to Spies also? Dumb ass move, for sure.

With a small lead and Haga in poor physical condition I'd say it's team politics. It sure doesn't pass the smell test to me. Fabrizio is damn lucky he has all his teeth because Spies is a gentleman but can kick ass if he has to.
