A stirring performance of the Puccini aria from the opera Turandot.

Nessun Dorma was a signature tune for the late great Luciano Pavarotti. Jeff Beck puts his personal stamp on this classic..

English Translation of "Nessun Dorma"

Nobody shall sleep!...
Nobody shall sleep!
Even you, o Princess,
in your cold room,
watch the stars,
that tremble with love and with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
my name no one shall know...
No!...No!...
On your mouth I will tell it when the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!

  • Who else could show up at a southern jazz 'n' blues fest with an inter-racial, international, band with a female bass player, a bald drummer whose into flowers, a keyboard player in a chessy hat, play funky blues, jazzy fusion, rockabilly, metallic rock... and a classical aria... all with no vocals... in what appears to be the middle of the afternoon, so no light show... and outside at that... And still kill!!!

  • I love this!!! Makes me cry, everytime.

  • Great performance!

  • LOL! (Comment below Ï heard Pavarotti did a cover of this")... humor aside, this is lovely... thank you to whoever posted this! Everyone can appreciate Nessun Dorma!

  • what the hell is he wearing? great song though

  • Oh to have heard Beck wrap that guitar around the voice of Pava on Nessun as he did w/Caruso!

  • i cryyyy fantastic :'(

  • I heard Pavarotti did a cover of this

  • @jhutton10 Ya, he came out at the end here also. I thought Rhonda was really cool. Definitely a sexy chick who can slap the bass!

  • @presatito True, but did he come back and play with Jeff? If he did the same as in Calgary, he held his own in a guitar dual with Jeff. Just saying, in time, he is going to be a huge talent, but obviously Mr. Beck is in a league of his own. And what did you think of Rhonda Smith on bass? mm mm! (oh and can she play too! lol). Jim

  • @jhutton10 I enjoyed him as well but I can't really bring his name up in the same sentence as Beck, and that's not even an insult to him.

  • @presatito I know just what you mean, incredible, and Tyler Bryant was fantastic to open with, going to go far is that kid
