~~
This is my concert piano arrangement of David Haas and Jeanne Cotter's "Glory to God" (Gloria) from the popular Catholic "Mass of Light" setting.

Ben Ireland is a New Age, classical pianist from New Orleans, Louisiana. He started piano at the age of four, immersed in classical studies and then coupled his musical passion with jazz studies. Ben has performed concerts in both New Orleans and Charlotte.

About this piece:

The vocal accompaniment is kept exactly the same. The piano accompaniment is different, but still in E major.

Interestingly, I modeled my arrangement of this popular David Haas tune from a number in Stephen Sondheim's famous Broadway musical, "Company."

Unfortunately, I do not have sheet music for this; as most of this is improvisational. Enjoy :-)

  • Hi a Catholic Church pianist & Choir Director here in the Island of Guam, USA... this is an awesome arrangement. Absolutely awesome!

  • Thank you very much for your kind words. Wow, a Catholic choral director and pianist from Guam--although it may seem a thousand miles away, you and I both share in the wonderful Communion of Life with our fellow brothers and sisters throughout the world. God Bless.

  • Very impressive! Concert piano arrangement is very enjoyable. You are a very talented musician. Thanks for the post!

  • Thank you! I deeply appreciate your kind words. God bless!

  • This is really good! I play this song for church and I really liked listening to your arr. of it. I was reading some other comments and I feel the same way about the third verse; that is should be played lower, to give it more contrast. Also what type of piano do you have? Awesome Job!!

  • Thank you! I appreciate your comment! It's nice being able to reply to a fellow piano accompanist. :). Although quite out of tune (as it is in the video), the piano is a Yamaha Studio Grand. God Bless!
