@fishordie2 she had to sleep with him otherwise Frank would of killed her. She had to pretend she enjoyed it. Frank was a disturbed man. She was described as a remarkable woman for few reason. She was strong and showed a lot of bravery

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is still fascinatining people while this one has lost it's power. Leone made some mistakes, put too much sentimental bullshit on it, picked Fonda, Bronson and Claudia Cardinale.

And if you really wanna see another cynic and bleak spagettiwestern you should choose e.g "Great Silence".

Don't know why i never really loved this film. After watching the extended version (2 h 59 min) of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - the real one - this Once Upon A Time In The West comes far behind it. Perhaps Bronson and Fonda didn't have so much charisma comparing to Eastwood, Wallace and Van Cleef.

And Leone - he knew that this film more or less flopped.

@prodigytechus hmm good point. it makes sense but man that is still so messed up. i always thought it was because she was using him and working against him in the long run, but at the same time she was really passionate about making love to him. like she almost wanted it and felt a real physical attraction to him that, despite the death of her new husband and step children, she just couldn't resist. but i like your second paragraph. i'll agree with that! thank you!

A Freudian explanation for that - fucked up though - some women get attracted to a man who wields power by destroying her family & nearly destroys her too..........low self-esteem I guess. But then Jill slept with Frank in order to gain his trust so that she could take revenge upon him.

A vengeful woman can do ANYTHING, including sleeping with her family's killer to see her revenge through. I think that was how her character was portrayed.
