@leonelegender Well that is actually the ending of this part of the book - Bastian wishes himself to be in Phantasia and when he appears their after blowing out the candle there is basically no more Phantasia and he has to play "god" after giving the empress a new name (moon child).
And that is were the book gets interesting and becomes a novel about growing up life and death!
Buzt probably the ending of the first part of the book was too... "ambitious" to the american market.
