in no direction home joan talks about how dylan is extremely hard to harmonize with because he just does his own thing and doesn't give you a heads up. dylan is always improvising words and changing the speed at which he sings. she does a pretty good job considering.

This was filmed as part of the "Hard Rain" concert, never released (that I know of.) It was done right in the middle of the "Rolling Thunder Revue", 1976-77.

I think Joan and Bob Dylan do a great job in harmony, with her soaring soprano and his "contrapunctal" bottom-line growl (and almost on key). None of these songs sound the same when sung alone, by either singer.
