I have decided to build me another Flying V. This one is going to be a bit different than the first. The body is going to be based on the Warmoth V2 style body. I am once again using a neck from Eden Guitars. 24 fret maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. I'm making the body from a piece of solid African Mahogany. I'll be using a GFS Crunchy Rails pickup in the bridge position, Wilkinson tuners, a hardtail bridge, and graphtech TUSQ nut. Finish will be Tung-Oil. Part 2 Will be up as soon as I finish routing and sanding. Part 3 will contain the Tung-Oil finishing process. Thanks for watching, please rate and comment :)

  • What did you use to mark the wood before cutting out the shape?

  • @MisterPoe666

You can see the template I made at :30 into the video. Its fairly easy to make templates. First you must find a body shape you are happy with, then find a pic of that body shape. Find something on the pic that you can use to bring the pic to scale. For instance I went with a Warmoth V2 style body. The neck pocket on the Warmoth is 2-3/16" wide. So once I had the pic I blew it up until the neck pocket was 2-3/16" wide, then I printed it out.
