In my experience placing the microfiber insert on top allows the stay dry layer of the pocket diaper stay dry, while placing cotton, hemp,or bamboo next to the stay dry layer of the pocket diaper actually make it feel more wet. Placing the cotton/hemp/or bamboo fabric behind the microfiber layer also is more likey to catch the compression leaks from the microfiber that can come out of the back of the pocket. But I have a girl and I use fuzzibunz. Have you tried stuffing it the other way?

I am wondering why you put a gflapper and a microfiber insert in the dipe? is the gflapper not absorbant enough by itself? I thot bamboo was really absorbant.

Hi, I'm the person talking in the video. I wasn't putting a flushable into the Bumgenius 3.0 I was putting a cloth gflapper into the diaper. We use the cloth gflappers in gdiapers and other diapers. We use them in pocket diapers as extra stuffing and inplace of the inserts that come with them. We also use them in gdiapers inplace of the flushable insert because it's a cheaper route to go. It's also better for the environment.

i'm new to this, but as of now, i'm confused about why you'd put the g flushable into the bumgenius. everything else is still going to get soaked and need to be washed, yes? thank you in advance for clarifying this for me.
