  • Love the horn on this guy.

  • I love C40-8s or B40-8s (double truck vs tripple)

  • @CSXno601 I actually like the K5LA, I do think most Leslie Horn's sound better, But I'd take a K5LA over a K3LA any day! I hate the sound of a skreechy K3. The Canadian railroads use a K3 that sounds pretty good to me, but they seem to be a little more mellow where as the UP and BNSF have a very shrill K3 that is just awful...

  • Im pretty sure I saw these same engines in Tarboro,N carolina. It had a C40-8 & A ES44Dc but i cant remember the road numbers from the engines.

  • A 3rd Generation K5LA, huh? What a terrible horn! It has an overplaying 5 bell, a bad diaphragm and a not-so-good 4a bell. Unfortunately, these are the wave of the future, and are the first of Nathan's "Microprecision" series. They sound awful to me! They're slowly infiltrating the NS and CSX fleets, which sucks!
