"Lovefool" is a single and track from the 1996 album, "First Band on the Moon", by The Cardigans. The album was originally released on Stockholm Records and was produced by Tore Johansson. The album was the band's first major international success, reaching #18 on the UK Top 200 Albums chart and #35 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Albums. Album sales for "First Band on the Moon" have been certified at 2.5 million worldwide.
"Lovefool" was written by Nina Persson and Peter Svensson. The single was released worldwide on Stockholm Records and was produced by Tore Johansson. The single peaked at #2 on the UK Singles Chart and topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart.
Two music videos were produced for "Lovefool", one for Europe and the UK and a second one for the U.S. and North America.
