  • After Tony Gwynn, he was the best pure contact hitter I've ever seen.

  • I thought he choked on chew after diving for a ball?

  • You also got AIDS from Goltz.

  • Great post. Isn't that Ted Koppel at the beginning?

  • @ctxsix

    Joe Mauer?

  • in those years carew and brett were both up in the 380s and 390s BA

  • Rod Carew Is A BadAss

  • I ran into him once in a parking lot. I just wanted to say hello and that I was a fan. No autograph. No bugging him. He was really rude. He acted like I was asking him for money. Sorry to say but a real jackwad.

  • What game was it in that Rod Carew had a base-running collision & swallowed his signature huge wad of chewing tobacco & puked on live tv? Does anyone have that tape? He was an amazing player.

  • In 1969, Rod Carew had a .332 batting average with the Minnesota Twins.
