  • I don't think I've ever heard anything more beautiful than this. I'm genuinely moved.

    Thank you

    xxx

  • you're welcome ;-)

  • it must be

    "Wie uns die Alten sungen"

    and not

    "Als uns die Alten sungen"

    but very nice performance though

  • thanks ;-)

in internet there are a lot of sites reporting "Als uns die Alten sungen"...

there could be two different versions...

  • That's amazing..... I can't stop listen to this great performance of my favourite christmas song

  • Thanks! ;-)

Though I do not doubt alternative versions on the internet, the line with 'wie' is lexically correct-- meaning "(just) like the ancients sang to us", whereas 'als' would mean "while' the ancients sang to us".

    A truly great performance, regardless!

  • One of the best performances of this I've ever heard. Very well done...

  • super gesungen. Eines der schönsten Weihnachtslieder

  • Re Praetorius' song, this performance thereof, and the message conveyed in words and music, I can only say: there is great beauty here, moving in its simplicity and depth..

  • schöner heizkörper in der mitte!^^

ne is aber sehr schön gesungen!

  • @heros2110 There are two very different versions of the verses. They're singing the version most used in Catholic liturgy, using "Als" and a new 3rd strophe not used in Lutheran liturgy,

  • serh super tolles lied

  • I like it! One of my favourite Christmas songs and your version is very beautiful. Pronounciation is good too!

  • A good rendition. However, I'm partial to The Tallis Scholars' version.
