But God forbid we hurt the profits of the fossil fuel industries. Exxon is just barely eking out with its record billions in profits.

cap and trade is a capitalist joke. since when do politicians besides gore want to actually help the environment? clearly another way for the government to hoodwink the public into giving up their money and their freedom, something we seem to be doing a lot of these days.
