I was just playing through a couple of my pieces in my collection when I realized that the theme from Disney's Up and the classic Filipino love song Minamahal Kita (I'm Loving You) sounded extremely similar. I decided to put them together in this mashup. I think it's quite appropriate giving the lyrics of the song. Carl loved Ellie so much, through life and death. That fervent dedication which I feel is quite fitting of the classic Minamahal Kita. I tried to keep that same bittersweet quality that the Up theme had by having the whole mashup tell a story of excitement, love, loss, and nostalgic recollection.

I always liked the whole waltz feel of both of these pieces. The beginning is like the excitement of first meeting and chasing someone special. After that that, it slows down and you fall in love. But suddenly, for some reason it doesn't work out or something unpredictable happens and you're alone again - dancing alone. But then, at the end you sit down and you fondly remember the happy days and memories that you had together.

@rtablada the up music can be found online. i just looked up piano sheet music. the 'minamahal kita' was from a book called "kundiman at iba pa" that we bought in music store somewhere in the philippines. as for my playing, i improvised a little, added things here and there, broke up the chords -- so it's kind of different than the sheet music. hope it helps! :)

You made an excellent mashup of a Filipino kundiman and a Disney movie theme song. While at it, could you also please do a mashup of another Filipino kundiman, "Ikaw" by Ric Manrique Jr. and the classical piece "Valse Lente" of Leo Delibes? Both pieces also sound extremely similar.
