  • Anyone who followed Saku's story, both as a hockey player and a cancer survivor, has to feel some strong emotion while watching this video. Montreal was more than just a home to Saku, and conversely, he was more than just a hockey player to us. He represented so many things during his time here in Montreal; respect, perseverance, class, just to name a few, and though he's someone I never met and likely never will, he's had a strong, positive effect on my life and I only wish him the best.

  • A standing ovation is in order, I expect nothing less from Hab fans.

  • I loved Saku Koivu when he played for Montreal. He was my favorite player.

  • @andreasleou i think it was a nice, warm reception indeed. just what the man deserved :) salute

  • @loossiful I sure hope so! The just need to win game 7 in Boston, that all(sarcasm)! But im confident! =)

  • @cathie08 Feels anyway great that Saku is still very respected in Montreal. I mean also as a person, not just as player. That is kind of rare in NHL and players really need to earn that glory. And big respect for Canadians fans for that. One day I want to be in Bell Centre to feel that atmosphere and wear somethin red (maybe number 11 in it ;) ). Good luck for playoff and I think this might be yours season.

  • @loossiful french is a pretty difficult language and i speak french as a first language

  • @cathie08 That would be Saku's at least fourth language..In Finland we study english, swedish and ofcourse finnish.. So that could be he's reason for that and I know that french is very difficult to finnish mouth.

  • the only thing that is sad about Saku, is that he never learned to speak french as a Montreal Canadiens captain, except that, he was a great captain, who accomplish many thing and hes a cancer survivor, hes a great man =)
