In this video John, Cody, Matt and I are getting the triggers attached to the glove and trying it out!

This is the 6th official meeting of the brand new Electronic Music Ensemble student club at Scottsdale Community College (Arizona). Matt Winchel and Cody Cruse are leading the club, and Elaine Walker (Electronic Music Instructor) is advising.

The purpose of the club is to perform electronic music using alternate controllers and a variety of software.

  • You don't go to SCC. the class there is hard ass and you won't pass any of their class. SCC is a P.O.S. I suggest that you go to MCC because Mesa community college is much easier than here at SCC.

  • You should try taking MY class at SCC. So many people just take it for fun! What you're seeing here is just a student club, affiliated with the school, and they happen to be my students, but this isn't the actual class. Anyway... try it if you're interested in electronic music. I have no idea what any of the other classes there are like.

  • good job pplz... just out of curiousity did u guys brainstorm any other designs for the controller or was this design (glove) just the first idea to come to mind? Reason why I ask is watching u play it made me wonder about if there was a more practical design where the time frame between playing notes that were for example on opposite sides of the glove would be reduced. Just a thought.. good work tho.. love seeing the progress

  • There won't be any delay in the reaction time once the drum kat is "trained" for the glove. Right now it's trained for my "star castle" which is another crazy icicle contraption in the background. Is that what you mean? Or are you talking about the distance between triggers? We brainstormed a little, but the guys quickly decided on a glove. I think they just wanted to go to Fredericks. ;-)

  • I was talking about the distance between the triggers, especially cuz they are on opposite sides. This might limit composition. Just a thought. I didn't even notice the delay ur referring to.

  • nah.. it's what's called a "performance art piece". lol. if it were practical it wouldn't look as cool. Anyway, it's just on there with velcro.. perhaps we can sew more velcro on there so that the user can decide where they want their buttons. maybe the whole clove should be velcro!
