@pennybunnie American films becoming popular is not related to intelligence. Avatar and Titanic are the two highest grossing movies of all time. I wouldn't call either of them thought provoking (unless you count the obvious metaphor in Avatar). Popular ≠ intelligent. But intelligent Americans do exist, I've met them. Australia's not any better though. We like to think we are, but we get manipulated by our pollies because we're all too busy getting pissed and watching the footy.
-
@pennybunnie cause they own everything and maintain a disproportionate amount of the worlds resources... hell general motors yearly turnover is the same as the combined GDPs of Ireland, New Zealand, Uruguay, Sri Lanka Kenya, Namibia, Nicaragua and Chad. Hell us has even pinned up many dictators across the globe. Including Saddam Hussein. But still believe the media centric democracy where 6 companies control the opinions of 300 million people while the wave their flags and pretend they are free!
-
huh... Rich says take republicans to the beach; very next election, a democrat becomes president. coincidence?.... i think not

Australia's not like that anymore. We've got to be way more violent than Americans now. Look at an Australian the wrong way, they'll fucking smash you. If we all had guns, the population of Australia would decrease so fast.

You
People love to knock Americans. I'm English and I KNOW more intelligent American Bus Drivers than half the students at my university. If all so thick why do American film/comedies become so popular
-

Well i think in comparison to Americans he's probably right with both.
Both British and Australians seem a little more polite when dealing with bullshit. That's not to say we're pushovers... Just Americans like to make a situation out of things.
