Ray was one of my best friends and lover..He was the nicest person one could know.....I went with him to his gigs and he was always happy.
He was the most tidiest man I knew & he loved his big old white car to bits!
He was always the perfect gentleman and we spoke often on the phone after I moved away from Sydney.....Not long before Ray passed, he told me on the phone that both his parents had died within a year of each other....They lived at Noraville on the Central Coast..R.I.P. Ray xx
this is great, my dad was childhood freinds with ray. the stories he tells me esspecially of when ray dropped in to see him when he had just recorded 20 miles. a very tallented musician, some of these stories made me want to be a gutarist myself. cheers RIP Ray
Ray Brown was in my mind the superior band lead vocalist in Australia in the sixties. This is a staid TV performance,so dont be misled. Ray and the Whispers could rock!
Simply the best. Ray Brown & The Whispers were my friends in the 60's. Ray's death in 1996 changed my direction in life forever. If it were possible to own a copy of this clip I would love it. Thank you for sharing. Vale Ray 1945-1996.
just hearing this version... not super impressed as I think of it as a soul song
