This video details the chase to the storm in southern MN on June 17th, 2009 and the initial touchdown of the first tornado in Mapleview, MN on the northern side of Austin. The tornado does not have a condensation funnel but is clearly on the ground as noted by the debris cloud underneath the mesocyclone. The latter part of the video shows some of the damage in Mapleview as we were just about to enter the northern side of Austin. This was the same area on Highway 218 where down powerlines blocked the road near the train tracks. This led to a closure of the highway into the evening as crews began the clean-up.
