I love the snow I ride with my 80 cr in the snow :)

@happycritic123 if he lives in a snowy area the last thing he wants is a bike that demands attention and slow starts where he has to warm it up in this climate. also he wants smooth power delivery on this terrain.

i have a drz400 (heavy bike) with kenda k270... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF I WILL BE ABLE TO RIDE IN THE SNOW THIS WINTER?
bandguy360 4 months ago
@bandguy360 I rode my whole life in the snow with bikes just as heavy, and with half worn tires, that being said I never really had fun doing it till I started using studded tires

do you have to have spikes?

@davison1021
No, I rode for years without them, but it wasn't fun.
If you really want to be able to ride the trails in deep snow and have fun, you cant beat them.
For frozen ground and up to 2 inches of snow we studded our own tires using car tire studs, and a stud gun, they work great.

@dirtrider6 Is it very hard to drive without spikes? I'm hoping to do a bit of driving in the snow this year but I think the cops would go mad if I drove around with spikes.

@fionnoc You can get what we called frozen ground tires, we would stud our own, but you can buy them, they are car studs put into the tire, and only the carbide tip sticks out just like a studded winter car tire, they are good in the woods up to 2-3 inches of snow or frozen ground.
