Please comment what you think

2004 Ford F150 4.6 V8 with a true(the two pipes never connect)dual exhaust. The mufflers are Flowmaster 40 Series going back to 3 1/2 inch tips.

  • about how much did this setup cost you? im looking for something similar for my 07 f150 to give it some sound but i dont want anything too loud and obnoxious. im really likin your setup with the true dual. any details on it would be much appreciated

  • @ShamrockLAX12 well it cost me about 150-200 i think however i had two flowmaster 40s and the two stainless steel tips already so you would have to add those to your expected price tag... i think the mufflers are probably 70-90 a piece and if you go stainless steel tips they can get up in the 70s too... all of these figures are off the top of my head so you can do your own research lol but i also recommend looking into an x or h pipe for your setup mine didn't have one but it wouldn't hurt

  • @wildrul and i also add that this was a custom job at a nearby muffler shop using custom crush bend pipes

  • After you put the system on did u have any problems with it running lean or the computer I want true duals but someone told me they would cause problems

  • @bsl3216 well i never experienced problems with this setup however doing a true dual setup with an x pipe or an h pipe will make it perform much better and most likely would help you avoid said issues and still have a true dual setup

  • i got the same truck model and motor. i like the sound of the 40 series but not quite enough noise. i put the flowmaster super 10 muffler on mine and it is barely a step up from straight pipes. the whole muffler is only about 6 inches long and its single chamber. it sounds identical to straight pipes but it is legal. i also used four inch stainless tips on mine. most people only use 3. and that bigger tip gives it a more throaty noise. i like the popping sound of the super 10 sounds great

  • @solutionman78 i bet that is pretty loud i bet the neighbors love you lol

  • @cv871 if it were me i wud go with the 4.6, i love the sound that they make, even with stock exhaaust, we have one with just cold air intake and its got a really awesome deep growl from the engine, put on a chip and you got just as much power as the 5.4, sounds like the direction i wud go. I find the 5.4 a little less responsive.

  • I'm debating getting a f150 with a 4.6 or a 5.4 the horsepower difference is like 60 I'm looking at a 2004-2008 and a 6 inch fabtech. Would you recommend a 4.6 with a chip or a stock 5.4 since that would be around the same horsepower thanks for your responses

  • Don't know why anyone would want the 4.2 v6 over this. Basically the same on gas.

  • damn!!just like big boy's!!beautiful ride man,congratulations

  • about how much did this setup cost you? im looking for something to give my 07 f150 some sound but i dont wont anything loud and obnoxious. this seems like a good setup for that. any details would be much appreciated

  • I have A 97 f150 thats true dual and im thinkin about gettin two flowmaster super 44.s for it. I think its gonna sound mean just like yours.
