Silhouette cutting is a very old art form. The artist just looks at the subject and using a small pair of scissors cuts out the subject's profile from a folded piece of paper. The black side of the paper is to the inside so the artist can see what they are cutting on the white side. Pam cut's her silhouettes without the use of lights, patterns or machines .She does NOTdraw the outline first but cuts it freehand. After the silhouette is cut which takes about 5 minutes it is then glued to a 5 X7 inch card dated and signed.Silhouette artist Pam Benton Hines is a third generation professional silhouette artist .
