Spotting at NAS Oceana
Naval Air Station Oceana
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Thursday May 12, 2005
IN THIS VIDEO, you will see NAS Oceana operations using Runways 5L and 5R. This was a video I had shot following my flight with the Red Baron Squadron, as I spent the good part of the early afternoon at Oceana in hopes of catching some F-14 Tomcats before they were retired. This was a VERY active day, but I only shot video of the Tomcats and of anything interesting I saw coming in. Squadrons seen in this video includes VF-32 "Swordsmen", VF-101 "Grim Reapers", VFA-103 "Jolly Rogers", VFA-106 "Gladiators", VFA-136 "Knighthawks", to name a few.
If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take the time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .
Well, it's funny but the SH and the F-14 both look like turkeys on final approach!

I've been by this station before in Virginia Beach. Saw the F-14s flying about five or so years ago. There is also a go-kart track complex right by it...you can see on Google Earth.
