So let me ask,so if i got to order food,i go to the counter i say hello then i tell them what i wish to have and if for example they ask me"Would you like any drink or any salad with that and i Nod with a smile then that will make that person more comfortable towards me?

@luvebug21 hi luvebug. The nod is a form of acknowledgment. When you have placed your order, there is no more reason to acknowledge him. In this scenario, a nod would represent hello >> thank you >> bye-bye all in one motion.

This really works. My english teacher the other day was disapointed at the entire class and while lecturing us about studyin, she mentioned my name and said to the class that i was like a moral compass because i always nod in acknowledgement even when i dont do my work. Its comforting to know that small things like that dont go unnoticed.

Great info and well said. You really broke it down for us. I do the head nod, but don't necessarily look away. I kind of just give a few low nods. I am going to practice the look away, though.
