Never heard of this song until him and I don't even care to hear the original <3 :))

what does his hand say?

Honestly, the first twenty seconds or so are VERY pitchy, but after that little bit, WOW. David Cook is just amazing.

Funny thing is, this is one of my least favorite performances of his, but one of my favorite studio versions. But then again, I don't think the theme 'inspirational songs' really benefits anyone on Idol. It just becomes a ballad-palooza.

this is his worst performance from Idol, and it was only bad cause he was having a hard time cause he was sick :P
kudos to him for still rocking it

his worst performance, but still pretty good.

@xdarknessangel I totally agree. Even though this was okay, it's not as good as the original
This is one cover he did that I didn't like originally, but has grown on me since he did it.

"and that she'd never heard of cancer"
That sounded like he meant it. I know most ppl didn't like the performance, but honestly I thought it was an intense moment for DC, and I liked it. The studio version of this song is great. I'd be fine with someone else winning the competition - that would give David C more freedom to negotiate his own terms and do the kind of music he wants - instead of whatever the Idol ppl think.
