adidas have unleashed the latest colorway for the 2011/2012 Champions League campaign in a sharp White/Purple combo with an eye-catching feature on the heel similar to that found on the Champions League Finale 11 ball. We can't wait to see which adiPower stars will be wearing these when the group stages of the famous tournament kick off on September 13.
After the more subtle Black/Blue/Electricity release adidas have returned with another vibrant addition to the adiPower range and a colourway which may well split opinions between adiPower fans. There's no doubt that the new White/Purple Champions League release will stand out on football pitches but it remains to be seen whether it will be as popular as the previous colourways.
The modern game demands speed and adidas have evolved the most iconic football boot in history to design the lightest and most powerful Predator ever. The adidas Predator adiPower weighs in at just 235g, 25% lighter than the adidas Predator X. This latest release is a worthy addition to a range which could well be one of the most popular Predator collections of all time.
Above all of the changes made to the new adiPower Predator soccer cleats, the introduction of the adidas SprintFrame, which has been a huge hit with the F50 range, is the major evolutionary leap forward for the new Predator. With less upper layers, the revolutionary outsole is 50% lighter than a standard TPU outsole and has been designed to create the entire stability across the boot. The central lacing, which sits underneath the newly designed lace cover, makes the boot suitable for various foot-shapes.
Greater stability, improved movement, traction and pressure distribution are all assets which adidas have succeeded on improving by implementing the F50 adiZero range into the new adiPower. Now featuring a wider fore-foot, sleeker mid-foot and wider heel, the new Predator adiPower last means the studs can be positioned closer to the outside of the sole.
The new adiPower Predator soccer shoes continue to utilise the same Taurus calf leather first introduced in the adidas Predator X. Combining a natural leather look with high tearing and high abrasion qualities, the adiPower offers supreme touch performance leather.
Merging power with lightweight construction creates a lethal weapon in the lightest and most powerful Predator ever. The SprintFrame out-sole combines with a redesigned Predator PowerSpine to allow additional energy transfer directly from the foot into the ball by preventing the foot from over bending. Comfortable running movements are ensured by the flex grooves in the PowerSpine keeping the element highly flexible in the right direction.
The unique heel of the new White/Purple Champions League adiPower Predator offers a distinctive limited edition feel to the boot and a look we haven't seen on an adiPower to date. A boot with an illustrious history combined with Europe's most prestigious club competition creates an exciting release and proves the adidas Predator continues to set new standards with each release! The bar has been raised once again by adidas and the adiPower range welcomes a new colourway to it's increasingly impressive collection!
With the Champions League just around the corner, we're expecting to see the new White/Purple adidas adiPower Predators gracing Europe's elite pitches! The White/Purple adiPower will be available to order from 1st October and will retail worldwide for around £155 GBP / $250 USD / €175 EURO.
