I had a 5 speed yellow one Looked way Cool but handled really bad frame flexed and felt really scary. Schwinn had it down with there 5 speed Krate Series bikes they rode great and would out handle the Raleigh by a large margin !!!
I suspect that my sperm count decrease dramatically since the seventies, thanks in part to the position of the shift lever in this particular model....OUCH !!!
Do we actually make anything in this country anymore? it seems everything is either made in India China or Taiwan. Even the new Raleigh chopper is made in Taiwan. As a nation it seems all we do is work in shops and spend our money in shops on things made in other countries that keeps other workers in jobs..slightly off topic but just a shame when you see a factory that made great bikes and employed British workers being flattened for yet another retail park.
At high speeds the front wheel would get speed woble and the handle bars were hard to hang on to when they are going back & forth so fast until down you went and i got the worst road rash of my life on a fastback 500 exactly the same bike , very dangerous bike.
@1 min 5 secs he says coming down just to brick dust...whole countrys coming down to brick dust mate!, what i wouldnt do to go back to the 80's!
