@celtickimba Thanks! Joe was a character and we miss him dearly. The breeder lived in Calgary, Canada. He no longer breeds basenjis. Joe has only one sibling left, as far as I know, living in Costa Rica.

The other Washington is closer to where I live. Why are there so many Basenjis in the east and not in the west? But I have been watching the BRAT site, looking for that perfect Basenji. Perfect Basenji... Isn't that an oxymoron?

What a wonderful, heart-warming memory. I have a Basenji I adopted from B.R.A.T. (Basenji Rescue and Transport) and he is the joy of my life. When you & your family are ready, please open your heart & home to a B.R.A.T. dog. There are so many Basenjis that would Baroo for an owner like you.

Nice to meet you, BRAT person. Basenji Joe has many BRAT Myspace friends and we do peruse their website regularly, waiting for "kismet" to jump out and bite us in the butt... One of these days...

We ARE on their email list, but we're a bit apprehensive about taking the plunge, because the cat says NOOOOO! And they're all so far away! Have you seen Joe's Myspace page? Are your basenjis rescues?
