I thinl Ohio is doing a great job at the C&D landfills the ones we rail haul waste to are in great shape, and being able to run our railroad trans load site is the only way to handle the waste unloading right from the railcars at a old rail spur in the country right into waiting trucks is a plus it keeps cost down

We are going through the same crap in Alliance and Canton Ohio. The Canton Landfill is on fire, the EPA has done little if nothing about it. The landfill reopening in Alliance is contaminated with chemicals from the previous owners. To find out what is in your local landfills, past and present, google envirofacts.
Recently the Alliance Water Treatment plant took in a bunch of leachate from the Canton landfill,it was too high in Amonia, they couldn't treat it and it was dumped in Beech Creek.
