In the 38th minute disaster struck for Real Salt Lake as Morales sealed off a defender in the final third and began running toward goal with the ball, but Chivas striker Mondaini made a clumsy two-footed tackle from behind, scything down the RSL playmaker.
Morales was in visible physical pain following the challenge as RSL players surrounded the referee. Initial reports suggested a fractured ankle, and Morales was rushed to a nearby hospital while Andy Williams subbed in for the home team.

The MLS sent a real message too!!! Here's a 3 game suspension and a slap on the wrist. He should be out as long as the player that he injures is!!!!! BOTTOM LINE!! Horrible slid tackle, had been beaten and getting owned and makes same half ass slide tackle at his feet ending his season!!! What a dirty tackle and probably the most classless fans in MLS as the Chivas section couldn't stop cheering after it happened.

This was so crazy.. i was at this game not far from the front row and i saw it happen it was horrible.. Chivas is a very dirty team when they were getting beat all over the field they decided to start taking out Real's players. Their fans we even dirty as in cheering for the injury. Its disappionting that someone can act like that just because they are out skilled.. We love you Javier!
