@conorthealien I would have to agree with you man. Yngwie is an ego-maniac, but he is a phenomenal guitarist at what he does. Greg is awesome because he plays with feel and fire whether it's slow or fast. And I respect the fact that he knows tons of theory, but it doesn't come off cold and contrived, as if he's trying to hit you over the head with what he knows like Joe Satriani for example. Randy Rhoads is my favorite Rock guitarist becuase he ALWAYS played for the song and played with passion.

Why does Yngwie malmsteen always get brought up in these kinda videos? He's a great guitar player in his own right, he plays fast because alot of classical, romantic and baroque is fast and that's what he's trying to imitate, he's not just playing fast to show off, I personnaly hate his personality but anyone who denies his musical talent is just ignorant.
also Greg is fucking amazing, and I do agree his phrasing and tone is godly!!

Try to "reverse engineer" Howe's solos, yes, he can play fast, but he completely tames himself and unleashes a different aspect of his playing (which is cooler for me btw). His control for his tone and phrasing is the one that truly kicks-ass. Yes, everybody can, and could play fast with frequent practice, but putting your heart into a song? Nah, I really don't think that most of the new breed players has that quality.

I love the way Greg plays with so much feel and doesn't wank off, he plays for the song and is so tasteful, unlike Ynwie Malmsteen for instance!
