K38 Dungeons Great White Shark Story

Eraldo Gueiros and Carlos Burle came to South Africa to film a Brazilian movie. I was working the Red Bull Big Wave Africa surfing contest. This was a shark encounter during the waiting period. Carlos and Eraldo were towsurfing using a Jet Ski at Dungeons. The story can be read in Paul Diamonds new book: Surfing's Greatest Misadventures. The title of the story is: The Place Where Anything Wrong Comes to Death. We are at my rented home in Kommetjie and all the athletes came over for dinner. Grant Washburn was staying there, and Rudy Palmboom who you see in the background from the Bluff in Durban is watching. Rudy was my roomate during the waiting period and Tass his wife was my angel on the phone. Always been the sole female in these contests, but the women, (mothers/wives/girlfriends) are the silent sentinels. I worked this contest for 5 years, training the K38 South Africa Krew who is now doing the water safety. Lekker Bru!
